Frisbee Golf (FROLF)
FROLF – Disc Golf, also known as Frisbee Golf – is a game that is very similar to regular golf. However, instead of using golf balls and clubs, players throw a Frisbee into a basket. Score is kept the same with the lowest score winning.
Pioneer is home to an 18 hole FROLF course that spans Pioneer’s beautiful 75 acres. The holes will take you everywhere from the shore of Lake Erie to the quiet meadow tucked away in our woods.
Pioneer has over 50 acres of woods which house multiple hiking trails for you to explore. Guided hikes are offered upon request and availability.
Check in at the welcome center to sign up for a self-guided hike. Hiking Guides are available at the Welcome Center. The guide gives detailed descriptions of each trail, with distance, and key features to note while hiking.
With 50 acres of woods, there’s an adventure to be had around every corner while exploring our trails on mountain bikes. There are well-maintained and ready to use mountain bikes available for trail riding.
Orienteering requires navigational skills using a compass and map to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain. It can be done at many speeds: at a slow or moderate pace, to develop your skills – or – quickly, to race others in order to find all of the designated points first.
Want to shake things up this winter? Build a fire outside and enjoy the crisp air with friends and family, or enjoy the comfort and warmth of a fire inside around a fireplace in one of our meeting halls. Visit in the winter and you’ll have opportunities for outdoor adventures, including: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and winter survival training.
